Oxfordshire County Council

(Berrick Salome Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Berrick Salome, replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limit, leading out of the village to the following points:

1. The unnamed road to Newington - a point 90 metres northwest of its junction with the road to Chalgrove,

2. The unnamed road to Chalgrove - a point 202 metres north of its junction with the unnamed road to Newington,

3. The easterly unnamed road to Roke - a point 30 metres east of its junction with the access to the Allotment Gardens, and

4. The westerly unnamed road to Rokemarsh - a point 20 metres south of its junction with the access to the Berrick & Roke Village Hall.

Additionally, 20mph speed limits will be introduced within Roke & Rokemarsh as follows:

5. The easterly unnamed road to Roke - from a point 40 metres north of its junction with the unnamed road running through Roke, to its junction with the unnamed road running north-eastwards from Roke,

6. The westerly unnamed road to Rokemarsh - from a point 20 metres north of its junction with the unnamed road running through Roke, to a point 195 metres northwest of its junction with the B4009, and

7. The unnamed road running through Roke (from Roke Farm to Chapel Lane) - for its entire length.

Lastly, sections of the existing 30mph speed limit will remain between the proposed extents of the 20mph speed limits at Berrick Salome and Roke/Rokemarsh on the following roads:

8. The easterly unnamed road to Roke, and

9. The westerly unnamed road to Rokemarsh.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (Berrick Salome Parish) Order 1999 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the 30 December 2022. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. (Ref: CM/12.6.127)


(Steventon Parish) (Speed Limits) Order

20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Steventon, replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety, leading out of the village to the following points:
1. B4017 Abingdon Road - a point 225 metres north of its junction with Field Gardens,

2. Hanney Road - a point 324 metres west of its junction with Stonebridge Road,

3. B4017 High Street* - a point 204 metres south of its junction with Station Yard.

* The temporary 20mph & 40mph speed limits currently in place on the B4017 High Street - brought in due to ongoing structural issues with the bridge - are proposed to be incorporated into these proposals as a permanent measure, thereby introducing a 40mph speed limit as follows:

4. B4017 High Street* - from a point 204 metres south of its junction with Station yard to its junction with the A4130 Abingdon Road.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Steventon Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2019 will be revoked/replaced as necessary, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Steventon, B4017 High Street) (Temporary Speed Limits) Order 2022 will be revoked.
