1 Made in Greenwich
To mark two and a half years of showcasing local talent, Made in Greenwich Gallery is relaunching with an exciting autumn programme of exhibitions. From 22 October to 12 November, local jeweller and artist Michele Franklin exhibits new paintings and prints. While you’re there, don’t miss gallery owner Edward Hill’s 360° ‘photospheres’ of Greenwich and beyond.

2 Blackheath Contemporary Art Gallery
Blackheath Contemporary Art Gallery is a new pop-up gallery running in partnership with The Conservatoire. Filling the space between the outgoing India Jane store and the soon-to-be Gail’s Bakery, the gallery is run by Joanne Parker, founder of the nomadic JP Art gallery, which offers a platform for emerging artists such as Victoria Kiff (pictured above). The artists are carefully selected by from graduate shows, artists’ studios and word of mouth. Gallery prices range from limited-edition prints at £50 to scultpures at £6,000.

3 Deborah Essés Gallery
Deborah Essés, who studied art in her native Argentina and then Tel Aviv, moved to Kent in 2002 and later to Hither Green, where she set up her own gallery. Her work often features dancing, athletes and a world of joy. Deborah will be showcasing her new works of curvaceous, glamorous women and exuberant flowers at her gallery on 4-5 and 11-12 October.

4 The Old Police Station
This old police station has been transformed into a DIY arts centre with holding cells available to hire for exhibitions, performances and screenings. Set up in 2009 by Anthony Gross, it houses a heady array of happenings among its 42 spaces.

5 The Royal Gallery
The Royal Gallery in Chislehurst specialises in original limited-edition artwork by the country’s leading artists. Current featured artists include Ben Riley, whose iconic portrait paintings use only ground-down record dust to create a sensational finish, and Fanny Gogh, who creates 3D artworks of Knickerbockerglories. There’s also an on-site picture-framing service with an extensive range of mouldings.
