Two different experiences, two different views of the same incredible city in one, sky-high city. 2 Florattica, Aldgate 

For rooftop bar Florattica’s first New Year’s Eve party, there’s a champagne cocktail on arrival, a glass of Moët at midnight alongside canapes and small plates throughout the evening. A DJ, live saxophonist and an acrobat will entertain you, as will the views across the City of London. You’ve also got as prime spot to catch the fireworks.

3 Bacchanalia, Mayfair 

Oh, Bacchanalia. If you wanted to be superstitious about New Year’s Eve, spending it here would set up your 2023 to be a lavish, sumptuous year, filled with comforts and decadence. Bookings start from 9pm, and guess will be treated to a tasting menu crafted for the night. There will also be live, immersive entertainment and an ‘operatic experience’, as well as DJ Jean Claude Ades bringing is brand of electronica to the evening to get the party started.

4 Sparrow Italia, Mayfair 

This decadent restaurant will ring in the New Year with a Black and Siver themed extravaganza. For food, you’ve got the truffle menu and limited-edition cocktails, and hopefully if you’re lucky, that lobster linguini. Toast the new year with a glass of champagne, and enjoy all this with DJs and live music until late.

5 Petersham Nurseries, Richmond & Covent Garden 

There’s three restaurants to choose from under the Petersham umbrella, each one as florally and charmed as the others. Over in Richmond enjoy a candlelight prosecco buzz and a dinner under a canopy of bougainvillea and vines, with a live band to boot. The menu includes the likes of oysters, venison fillet with a celeriac, potato and thyme, and traditional Sardinian flatbreads. Covent Garden will put on a six course feast for the evening including dishes such as confit egg yolk and girolle mushrooms and slow-cooked beef, while La Goccia across the courtyard is putting on a sharing menu of seasonal Italian dishes like beef tartare and burrata with roasted pumpkin and agrodolce and has a DJ playing disco tunes until late.

6 Manteca, Shoreditch 

The nose-to-tail restaurant has put together a feasting menu of regional Italian dishes to finish of the year with. Many dishes are cooked over live fire, and the menu includes the likes of beef fat fudge, white park beef, game rillette crostino with house-made ricotta and wood roasted muscat grapes, lentils and almonds. A vegetarian menu is also available.

7 Barts Secret New Year’s Eve Bash, Chelsea 

Step into this glamorous apartment block and behind a secret black door you’ll find a new years eve bash with Gatsby vibes and decadence. To ring in the new year in true Italian style, Lina Stores is throwing a grand New Year’s Eve celebration at both their King’s Cross and Marylebone restaurants, with live entertainment, delicious Italian food and drink and plenty of good cheer. A sharing menu featuring some of Lina Stores’ favourite stores will be available on the night, and a DJ will play Italian classics and modern-day hits, with an additional secret musical act at the Marylebone venue.

9 Amethyst, Mayfair 

Indulge in a sumptuous 15-course tasting menu to round off 2022. The menu includes signature Amethyst dishes such as foie gras with rose petal salmon, yuzu and Piedmont hazelnuts and black cod with burnt hay, caramelised miso and roscoff onion broth. The decadent meal also includes new dishes such as yuba with A5 Kobe, Royal Beluski caviar and mitarashi; French toast, croquette, white truffle and vacche rosse cheese sauce; and wagyu beef with Japanese barbecue, teriyaki and chartreuse jus. 10 Southbank Centre 

The arts centre rounds off its Winter Festival with this big party to welcome in the new year. The Royal Festival Hall transforms into five floors of festivities featuring music across the decades, starting with the 1920s. The centre’s first new year bash since the pandemic, there’s also live acts and dance lessons on the night, as well as a range of packages on offer, Festival Hall is also a great spot to catch the fireworks over the Thames.

11 Sky Garden, City 

A sky-high soiree, Sky Garden’s New Year’s Eve party overlooks the glittering city skyline. Another sky-high farewell to the year, this one perched high above Canary Wharf. Selfridges’ chic Italian rooftop restaurant Alto by San Carlo, has had a festive makeover and is welcoming guest for a five-course sharing feast for New Year’s Eve. In the Rooftop sanctuary with DJs and a live sax playing throughout the evening, tuck into the likes oof burrata with smoked aubergine; ravioli with truffle and Pecorino cheese; and fillet of beef tartufo. 14 Fat Tony’s Full Fat New Year’s Eve Party at The Anthologist, Bank
