You can visit a Korean grill spot in London where they grill the food in front of you, and a full chef’s feast costs just £65 a person.

If you like Korean food and great value for money, you should know about Korean Grill Kensington, located a short walk from Gloucester Road station this new spot opened earlier this year.

Offering relaxed dining and a unique grill experience, guests who visit can have food grilled right in front of them, and the best part is you can get a full feast with steak, beef and seafood for just £65 a person.

I recently visited with my friend Glen to give their ‘Chef’s Feast’ menu a try and I’ll start off by saying it's amply named.

We first began by selecting our choice of Soju, which you can opt for an extra charge to be paired with your meal, this was my first experience trying Soju.

The drink is very popular in Korea and is made from rice and was described by our server as a sweeter version to vodka.

I ended up trying the Grape flavour, which was very sweet and very palatable, and would be a good option for anyone who prefers sweeter flavours.

The meal was divided into a number of sections, with our servers presenting us with a torrent of small namul dishes – leafy or green dishes which included seasonal kimchi, yuzu salad, bihim noodles and jeon.

Alongside this we were also served a selection of small appetisers to eat whilst we waited for the meat servings, which included a beef and onion soup and steamed rice.

But the main attraction of this place is the way they cook the food on a grill right at your table, and this itself was an experience to watch the server grill the food and give a description of each dish she was preparing.

On the grill we tried tiger prawns, a 35-day aged rib eye steak and beef marinated in soy sauce, each of which came with a sauce pairing and recommendations on how to eat it with the eight accompanying small dishes

The idea of Korean Grill is that you can create your very own ‘taco’ using large lettuce leaves, filling them with your choice of meat, toppings and sauces, and it was really fun to experiment with the different textures and flavours.

The rib eye was my favourite out of all the meats, with a really rich flavour that went really well with the crunchy kimchi salad.

After all that food, the meal finished with a light serving of red bean paste ice cream, which was sweet but light in texture to finish off after such a full feast.

This experience is definitely suited to someone who likes to experiment with flavours, there was so much on offer with so many dishes that I’d never tried before.

It feels luxurious but with a very affordable price tag, where you can enjoy really good quality food and grilled dishes all for £65.

You can also choose to pair with Soju for an extra £30 or wine for an additional £35 if you want to add alcohol.

The experience was incredibly enjoyable and would make a fun evening out for a special occasion to try in London this summer.
