I went to a cosy outdoor terrace restaurant in Central London where the floral themed décor is changed seasonally.
Situated on Great Russell Street just off Tottenham Court Road is arguably one of London’s most Instagram-worthy restaurants – Dalloway Terrace.
Here you’ll find an outdoor terrace covered with floral displays where you can sit on padded seats whilst enjoying brunch, a meal or even afternoon tea.
The restaurant's colourful floral décor changes seasonally from vivid red leaves during the autumn months to delicate spring blooms.
I recently went to try out their spring menu, with their current theme featuring light yellow and white blooms for the season.
Despite the weather being drizzly outside we were still able to enjoy the benefits of an outdoor terrace with its covered seating and outdoor heaters, making it a great outdoor location even during the chillier days.
The menu features a wide selection of products made with fresh ingredients, with starters beginning at £12 and mains starting from £22.
They also have a large wine list and a selection of house special cocktails to choose from.
They have a set lunch menu for £35, but we went for the all-day dining menu.
We began by sampling two of the starters, which were the pickled crab served with heritage radishes, tarragon and Guinness melba, along with the crayfish salad, avocado, roast red pepper salsa and focaccia crostini.
Both had a really great mix of textures and flavours and we also had a side of mixed breads which were freshly baked and delicious.
For mains, we went for the the cornfed chicken breast, English asparagus, mushroom and truffle sauce, along with the Black Angus fillet steak served with café de Paris butter and fries.
The steak was cooked perfectly and I will say that out of all the steaks I’ve had in London over the years this was one of the best.
Finally, for desserts we went for a classic vanilla crème brulee served with Earl Grey shortbread, and the chocolate fondant served with caramelised banana ice cream and a brandy snap.
The flavours of the dessert reminded me of a banoffee pie with the banana and the richness of the chocolate, and the brandy snap gave the dessert a satisfying crunchiness.
If you’re looking for an aesthetic location for a special occasion or a brunch date with friends, this location is definitely worth the visit the next time you’re looking for somewhere to eat in central London.
