As part of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s Houseplant Studio, Paul Holt, creative director of De Beauvoir-based garden centre N1, captures autumn’s glory with a display of indoor plants in a warm autumnal palette of bright oranges and yellow. Here, Paul offers his top five plant picks for autumn…

1 Aloe hybridsAloe is a known plant to many, but N1 will be introducing the first of exciting new hybrids to the market. With their compact shape and intriguing patterns and colours; they are sure to be plants of the future.
2 Xanthosoma lindeniiThis tropical plant is relatively unknown – it has large arrow shaped leaves with pronounced white veins making it a striking addition to any collection.
3 Calathea ‘Yellow Fusion’Brand new on the houseplant market, its limited availability ensures its hefty price tag will remain for some time! A mix of contrasting lime and dark green are this Calatheas striking feature.
4 Vriesea fosteriana ‘Red Chestnut’This variety is the perfect Autumnal plant with its striped red, bronze leaves and easy carenature making it one worth searching for.
5 Aglaonema ‘Orange Star’ and ‘Red Star’A favourite in autumnal houseplants, selected for their complementing autumn colour palette which will liven up any space.
