Lightopia, the illuminous festive light show, will return to Crystal Palace this Christmas time.

It may feel slightly premature, given that Daylight Savings hasn't even drawn to a close and we are all clinging on to the memory of the heatwaves, however looking ahead, Lightopia is a light at the end of several cold, dark months.

A neon winter wonderland, Lightopia features immersive, multi-sensory light and lantern installations as well as a water show that are designed to warm your heart and put you in the festive mood.

Trail highlights include a dragon that breathes 'fire', lighting up surrounding trees and crystals; The Magic Forest, a fantasy world filled with mythical creatures; and the ultimate Christmas installation of giant snowmen, baubles and sugar canes.

There's also the Land of Fairy Literature, Earth Flower and Forest Mushroom, as well as a section designed to add a fun chill to your spine, the Haunted Road.

Sprawling 40 metres across Crystal Palace's lower lake and stretching 15 metres above it, the water show boasts imagery of iconic Christmas characters of the likes of Santa and Rudolf as well as a Christmas tree and snowflakes.
