Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter have today announced that the two leading online fashion sites will be the first third-party retailer to stock Google Glass.
Net-a-Porter will be selling Diane Von Furstenberg’s DVF | Made for Glass collection, consisting of five different
packages, each including optical and sunglass frame styles in a range of different colours.
Meanwhile Mr Porter will be selling three Titanium optical frames in exclusive packages, which include Glass, a pair of titanium optical frames and a UV lens clip for £1,120.
Customers who buy the DVF Made for Glass and Titanium collections will be getting a Glass, a frame and a shade, a mono earbud, and a case. Both products are part of the Glass Explorer Programme and remain a prototype; the Explorer programme lets people from all walks of life play an active role in shaping Glass ahead of a wider consumer launch from Google.
“We’re so excited to be the only third party retailers to bring Google Glass to UK customers”, says Alison Loehnis, President, Net-a-Porter. “We first saw them at the Diane von Furstenberg’s spring/summer ’13 runway show – it was the perfect balance of technology and fashion which is at the heart of everything we do. Our tech-savvy women want things first, they embrace newness across all categories – Google Glass allows her to see the world in a new way and gives her instant access to information.”
