Sick of your weekly spin class? Don’t fancy swimming laps at the lido? Beat the heat and mix things up with the new floatfit HIIT on the water class at the Haymarket Hotel
Starting on 6 August 2016 and running until 10 September, the Haymarket Hotel is collaborating with water-based fitness experts, aquaphysical, with a series of revolutionary cross training HIIT work out classes on the water.
The class is set downstairs in the sleek 55ft swimming pool, edged in stone, surrounded by acres of grey oak and with a ceiling covered in twinkling lights. The floatfit class is a 30 minute HIIT workout including burpees, lunges, squats, mountain climbers, the plank, and stretching… all with one caveat: it’s on water.
Don’t let this scare you away because you can reap major results from the low impact, cross training aspects of the class, which give the body a full workout. All exercises are done on the aquabase, which is a responsive exercise mat floating on the surface of a swimming pool.

After the class, guests will be refueled with a brunch in the Brumus Restaurant with dishes such as crushed avocado on rye with grilled chorizo; poached eggs and French toast with peanut butter yoghurt and maple syrup; granola, yoghurt and compote, and a fluffy egg white omelette, goat’s cheese and baked romano peppers.
Classes start every Saturday at 8.45am or 9.45am. Classes are £30 and include a training session, mineral water and brunch at Haymarket Hotel, 1 Suffolk Place SW1Y 4HX. See aquaphysical.com
