Following a major refurbishment, one of London’s most iconic restaurants has reopened for glamour drenched service.

The grand Savoy Grill, by Gordon Ramsay, has reopened today, Monday, April 24, following a makeover which sees the renowned dining room glisten in 1920s Hollywood Regency splendour, evoking the chic hedonism of the Gatsby era which is a nod to its theatrical past.

First opened in 1899, the Savoy Grill was launched by Richard D’Oyly Carte, the man who brought together Gilber and Sullivan, when he decided to launch a hotel with restaurants to complement the Savoy Theatre.

Closed since February, the Savoy Grill has been styled out by the award-winning design studio Afroditi. The dining room has been dressed up in deep red velvet lined booths, blush silk lined walls and plenty of metallic and glass embellishments.

There’s also handmade feather tiles, and a commissioned artwork by fashion illustrator Thom Botwood.

The restaurant now boasts a new scalloped pewter bar as well as a Wine Experience Room which offers diners the opportunity to deep dive into a world of fine wine.
