If you're not familiar with Nepalese cooking, it has all the richness and flavour expected off South Asian cuisines but as it is lighter on the fats, Nepalese dishes are generally a healthier option.
Chunky veg, lean meats and fish, as well as pickles and salad stuff are used to create simple yet satiating dishes like steamed chicken dumplings in tomato and soybean soup, monkfish choila - grilled spiced fish with cucumber salad and beaten rice - and mutton sekuwa, which is a skewer onion, coriander and spiced tomato sauce.
Taking its name from the Nepalese soldiers who have fought for Britain since 1815, the restaurant is from Shrabaneswor Rai, the Nepalese-born co-owner of Hot Stone Steak and Sushi Barin Islington, who has familial connections to the Gurkhas.
