There's nothing like the reopening of a rooftop bar to announce winter is done and summer is just around the bend.

East London's rooftop playground has announced it's 2023 season, with tickets now on sale, heralding in warm weather fun.

Roof East, found on a top-floor shopping-centre carpark in Stratford, will reopen on Thursday April 20.

A kind of adventure playground for people who in one sense want to be adults by exercising their right to drink, and in another sense want to be kids by playing silly fun games, Roof East has both alcohol and silly, fun games.

Oh, and it also has a cracking view of east London's skyline and Olympic Park - a great spot for a sundowner and the summer months.

Roof East's silly fun includes Sluggers batting cages, Birdies Crazy Golf, archery game Arrows and Glitter Bowls, a camp neon disco take on lawn bowls.

The endurance challenge Beat the Bar is back too, which tests your upper body strength by seeing who can hold onto the Roof East Hang Bar for the longest time, for personal satisfaction, and hopefully a prize.

The free games area returns too, with giant Jenga, Kub, Connect Four, Cornhole and table tennis.

Rooftop Film Club also returns for sunsets and flicks. Each year, the programming includes cult hits, classics, arthouse films and the blockbusters you don't want to miss.

Already, Freaks and Geeks and Killer 90s Soundtracks are scheduled as film themes in May. Tickets for Rooftop Film Club go on sale Friday, March 28.

Also look out for one off nights and events - the Eurovision bash will be a good one, but there's also the Jenga Championships, pub quizzes, and dance classes.
