If you've got love to prove and a wad of cash to drop, one of London's top tier omakase restaurants has just the thing for eight couples this Valentine's Day.
Mayfair's Taku has created a one-off Valentines menu for a date night experience that trumps most others.
Served at the restaurant's intimate and elegant counter, diners can feast on a 20-course menu full of luxurious and gourmet flavours and ingredients.

The counter, which seats only 16 people, looks directly on to chef patron Takuya Wantabe's (ex-Michelin-starred Jin Paris) prepping area, so diners can watch on as he prepares one of the most elegant and extravagant meals around.
As Taku is an omakase restaurant, so you'll get what you're given, but trust that it will be sublime.
Expect a high caliber of dish, of the likes of scallop tartare topped with caviar, truffle and hazelnut oil; king crab chawanmushi (a savory egg custard); and grilled bream with shiokoji comte sauce and truffle. As a treat, king crab will feature prominently across the menu.
For dessert, expect black truffle mouse and whisky for an indulgent note to finish on.
A rare bird of a dinner such as this doesn't come cheap. This will set you back £500 a person - it's not the kind of thing you splurge on for someone you just met on the apps.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of Moet Grand Vintage champagne, but if you would like a wine, sake and sherry pairing, that's another £400 per person, so this evening is definitely for that someone special.
On February 14, there will be two sittings, one at 5.30pm and the second at 8.30pm. Each sitting seats 16 guests.
