A Hackney Bakery, Kensington Italian restaurant, and a Japanese sushi bar in Mayfair are among the five new London additions to the UK Michelin guide.

A refined Shoreditch supper club and a clubby restaurant in Mayfair also joined the guide.

London Field's Pophams, Maria G's, Roji, Cycene and The Twenty Two are the five London restaurants to be added to the Michelin Guide's latest round of recommendations.

Ahead of this year's reveal of new Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmands and green Stars in March, the Michelin Guide has added 24 new recommendations to its UK guide.

The London contingent showcase the breadth and diversity of the capital's dining out scene.

First up, the casual and breezy London Fields bakery Pophams which turns into an Italian restaurant four evenings a week has made the cut.

As an Italian restaurant, Pophams is all about the pasta and unfussy dishes done well. As a bakery, the marmite and leek scrolls are legendary.

Robin Gill has had a busy 2022, with the Zebra Riding Club restauranter and chef opening up several new ventures.

Among them is the sublime Maria G's in Kensington, serving up elegantly simple Italian dishes, prime for lazy summery grazing.

While the Kensington restaurant has been added to the guide, don't overlook Maria G's Fulham which focusses on fish - fitting for its Thames-side locale.

Roji, an intimate sushi counter bar in Mayfair has also captured the attention of the Michelin Guide team. With room enough for only 10 people, Roji offers a set eight course traditional omakase menu in two sittings a night.

Another intimate dining experience, Cycene, in Shoreditch has also won the Michelin guide's tick of approval.

Enjoy a 10-course tasting menu by chef Theo Clench (ex Akoko and Portland) in a dining room that feels like you're in someone's house.

Lastly The Twenty Two on Grosvenor Square has also been added to the guide.

Housed in a converted Edwardian house and attached to a private member club, the Michelin Guide notes service was 'eager' and 'on the ball', while the range of Mediterranean dishes is  'extensive'.
