Fitzrovia will soon welcome an underground cocktail bar inspired by a love letter to 1950s Hong Kong.

Lucy Wong will be 'sophisticated' and 'eccentric' when it opens in February and is based on the 1957 novel The World of Suzie Wong by Richard Mason.

Lucy Wong is the imagined daughter of the novel’s title character, Suzie Wong and a London socialite well known for hosting glam parties in her Fitzrovia apartment.

Created by The Breakfast Group (The Last Talisman in Bermondsey, Opium Cocktail Bar & Dim Sum Parlour in Chinatown and Salvador & Amanda in Covent Garden), Lucy Wong's interiors are inspired by the books 1950s setting, with nods to the '60s, '70s, '80s as well, and to The Breakfast Group founder, Eric Yu's, mother.

Expect interiors inspired by Chinese design, as well as cocktails, dim sum, Cantonese-style roast meats and a hidden outdoor terrace.

The bar will serve creative Asian riffs on classic cocktails, overseen by Dre Masso, formerly of Opium Bar, which has previously been placed in the 50 Best Cocktail Bars in the UK.
