One of the world's oldest boozes is having a comeback...

Lead Image: GOSNELLS

The capital's first mead bar has opened in Bermondsey serving up London-made boozy fermented honey drinks.

The GOSNELLS Mead Bar is found squirreled away under a railway arch amongst the several micro-brewery taprooms that call the Bermondsey Beer Mile home.

Originally Peckham-based, GOSNELLS brews a range of meads of varying strengths, from alcohol free to a punchy 12 per cent abv, and with each tipple showcasing natural flavours made by both bees and flowers.

Find several varieties of mead on tap, including the new dry Wildflower Mead which is made from the nectar of 45 different types of flowers, bushes and trees.

Good to note, it's also gluten-free and is brewed with honey, meaning there's no added sugar.

The meadery has both indoor and outside seating.

Address: 72 Enid Street, London SE16
