WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

(THE STREET, MORTIMER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2019

West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over The Street, Mortimer between its junction with West End Road and its junction with Hammonds Heath Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Hammonds Heath Road, Brewery Common, Mowbray Hill, Goring Lane, Reading Road, Burghfield Road, Victoria Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for the carriageway to be re-profiled and resurfaced. The proposed Order will come into effect on Friday 7th June 2019. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 8am and 5pm on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June 2019. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected
