Wigan Council Bus Lane Consolidation Order

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made the Wigan Borough (Greater Manchester) (Bus Lane Consolidation) Order 2019 which will come into operation on 1st June 2019. The effect of the Order will be to revoke previous bus lane Orders in their entirety on:
A49 Wigan Road (Order 2003)
A49 Wigan Road/Wigan Lane (Amendment Order 2005)
King Street West (Order 1995)
Wallgate (Order 1999)
Pottery Road and Wallgate (Order 2006)
Scot Lane (Order 1997)
Wigan Town Centre (Order 1992) » Saddle Junction (Order 1999)
Wigan Bus Station (Order 1995)

The effect of the Order will be to introduce bus lanes, Monday-Saturday, 7am - 7pm on:
A49 Wigan Road, Wigan (East Side) between its junction with Pilgrim's Way and its junction with the Boars Head Roundabout

A49 Wigan Road/Wigan Lane, Wigan (East Side) from a point 300 metres south of its junction with Chorley Road to its junction with Brock Mill Lane

The effect of the Order will be to introduce bus lanes, Monday-Saturday, 6am-Midnight on:
King Street West, Wigan (East Side) between its junction with Crawford Street and its junction with Wallgate

The effect of the Order will be to introduce bus lanes, Monday-Saturday, at any time on:
Scot Lane, Wigan (West Side) between its junction with Laithwaite Road and its junction with Montrose Avenue

Mesnes Street, Wigan (East Side) between its junction with New Market Street and its junction with Standishgate

Crompton Street, Wigan (West Side) between its junction with Riverway and its junction with Standishgate

Wigan Bus Station, Wigan - Unnamed roads comprised within the Wigan Bus Station, between its junction with new Market Street and its junction with Hallgate

A49 Ormskirk Road, Wigan (South Side) between its junction with Douglas Street and its junction with Warrington Road

The effect of the Order will be to introduce bus lanes, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-10am and 4pm-6:30pm on:
Leigh Road, Leigh (East Side) for its whole length
Market Street, Leigh (Both Sides) for its whole length

A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be inspected at the Town Mall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9am and 4:30pm on any day from Monday to Friday.
Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground-fa) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004 or (b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 15th May 2019 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
Wigan Borough (Tyldesley No. 134) (Temporary Closure) Order 2019 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director - Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Tyldesley No.134) (Temporary Closure) Order 2019
The effect of the order will be to prohibit any person from using public Footpath Tyldesley No. 134 from Point A at its junction with Bridgewater Road between properties numbers 13 & 15 as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 371968 401422 to Point B at its junction with the Leigh Guided Busway as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 371725 401835 for a distance of approximately 550 metres in a generally north easterly direction.
The footpath will be closed for a period of six months commencing on 3rd June 2019. There is no alternative route.
The closure is necessary in order to safeguard members of the public from the proposed development of the site. Dated this 23rd Day of May 2019.
