M3 MOTORWAY JUNCTIONS 4A AND 9-11 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS 9-11
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure of:
a) the southbound carriageway of the M3 between the exit slip road and the entry slip road at Junction 9 (A34);

b) the slip roads leading to and from the London-bound carriageway of the M3 at Junction 4A(A327);

c) the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M3 at Junction 9 (Winnall Interchange)(A34);

d) the road leading from the London-bound carriageway of the M3 at Junction 10 (A31); and

e) the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the M3 at Junction 11 (A3090).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake drainage maintenance and associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 5 weeks starting on or after Monday 3rd June 2019. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 1 June 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closure in a) above would be directed to leave the carriageway and re-join after the junction. Traffic affected by the closures in b) - e) above would be diverted by using other junctions on the M3 and by using the A30, A327, A331, A31 and A272. The diversion in operation would vary according to the closure in force. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
