CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 4th day of April 2019 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (6).
(1) COLLIERGATE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Colliergate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 7th day of April 2019 (works period) or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon has been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(21 LENDAL. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Lendal, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2230hrs on the 8th day of April 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 9th day of April 2019 (works period) or at a time when nearby building works being undertaken by a cherry picker from within the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2330hrs on the 8th day of April 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 9th day of April 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(41 STRENSALL NO. 2LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 2 Level Crossing on Moor Lane/Princess Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken that period commencing at 2330hrs on the 10th day of April 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 11 th day of April 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Moor Lane, Ox Carr Lane, York Road, Princess Road and vice versa.
(51 DUNDAS STREET. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dundas Street between its junctions with the temporary access road to Palmer Street and Palmer Lane (closed road) during the period when danger associated with carriageway excavation works within the closed road. That period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 6th day of April 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of July 2019 (danger period), or at a time when the danger has been resolved whichever is the earlier. This Order continues the temporary road closure Notice which had an end date of 2400hrs on the 5th day of April 2019.
(61 LOWTHER STREET & MARCH STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Lowther Street, York and (ii) March Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 23rd day of April 2019 (work period) or at time when carriageway works being undertaken in closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Lowther Street is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for divert traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
