Temporary Closure of Moorside Road, West Moors
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MOORSIDE ROAD, WEST MOORS from the junction with Station Road, approximately outside no 3, Moorside Road, a distance of approximately 30 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 22 April 2019 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10th May 2019. For the duration of the closure above, Moorside Road will be affected as follows; To revoke the existing one way order on Moorside Road between approximately no 3, Moorside Road to Firs Glen, and two way traffic will be imposed to ensure access is maintained.
This order will enable SGN to reduce the number of temporary traffic signal heads to be required at the Station Road roundabout, and will therefore help minimise disruption. SGN will be undertaking a gas mains replacement. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Pinehurst Road and Avon Road.
