LANARKSHIRE VALUATION APPEAL PANEL
Applications are invited from persons who would be interested in serving as members of the above Panel which is constituted in terms of the Local Government etc (Scotland) Act 1994.
The main function of the Panel is to hear appeals relating to entries in the Valuation List for council tax and entries in the Valuation Roll for rating. The work is interesting and would involve a commitment of, typically, two to four days per month. Members are entitled to expenses although there is no remuneration.
Members of the Panel must reside or be engaged in business or be employed in the local authority areas of North or South Lanarkshire.
Members of the Panel are appointed by the Sheriff Principal of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway.
Anyone interested in applying for membership is invited to contact Stewart Graham, the Panel Secretary, in writing by Friday, 19th April 2019. Mr Graham will provide further information and an application form if desired. The date scheduled for interviews is 10th May 2019.
All applications are welcome irrespective of gender and ethnic group. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
