Temporary Closure of All Saints Road, Weymouth
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along All Saints Road, Weymouth from the junction with Ebor Road to the junction with Wyke Road, a distance of approximately 85 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 8th April 2019 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18th April 2019. This order will enable I&G Contractors, on behalf of SGN, safe access to replace the gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; - High Street - Marlborough Avenue - Langton Avenue - A354, Portland Road - B3 156, Portland Road -
Wyke Road

Temporary Closure of Linked Footpaths, Chafeys Roundabout, Weymouth
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991.
All pedestrians and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along the linked footpath over the toucan crossing on the north side of Chafey's Roundabout, running south adjacent to the main A354 carriageway on the east side, to the dropped kerb crossing at the splitter island just north of Chafey's Roundabout; a total distance of approximately 130 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 5 April for a period of 26 weeks. This order can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The order is required due to SGN undertaking emergency repairs to a gas escape.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE; For the duration of the footpath closure(s), pedestrians and cyclists will need to seek an alternative route over other designated crossing points at the roundabout.
