A31 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR FERNDOWN TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
1) the overnight closure of:-

a) both carriageways of the A31 between Canford Bottom Roundabout (B3073) and Ameysford Roundabout, including the drive-through section of Canford Bottom Roundabout and the feeder lanes to and from it on the north side of the roundabout; and

b) Uddens Drive at junction with the eastbound carriageway between the roundabouts described in a) above; and

2) the overnight prohibition of turning right into Uddens Drive from the westbound carriageway between the roundabouts described in 1)a) above.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake drainage maintenance and associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 4 weeks starting on or after Monday 1st April 2019. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on 30 March 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing to be in force on completion of the works. Through traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A347, Wimborne Road East, and Wimborne Road West in both directions. The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
