Prescribed Alterations to Hackbridge Primary School
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that The London Borough of Sutton proposes intends to make prescribed alterations to Hackbridge Primary School, Hackbridge Road, Wellington, SM6 7AX, URN:102969 with effect from 31 March 2019.
Hackbridge Primary School is a community primary school for pupils aged 3 to 11 years. It is a four form of entry primary school. It operates on a split site. At the Hackbridge Corner site it has three forms of entry (90 pupils) and 52 part-time nursery places. At its London Road site there is one form of entry and 26 full-time nursery places. The current number of pupils at the school is 750. Hackbridge Primary School is federated with Spencer Nursery School.
It is proposed to expand Hackbridge Primary School by an additional 36 full-time nursery places and to change the age range of the school to 2 to 11 years. The additional nursery places will be provided at the site of the current Spencer Nursery School, Spencer Road Mitcham Junction, Mitcham, Surrey, CR4 4JP.
The London Borough of Sutton is publishing related proposals to discontinue Spencer Nursery School.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This proposal is linked to proposals also published today by the London Borough of Sutton to discontinue Spencer Nursery School. The proposed alterations to Hackbridge Primary School will enable them to deliver the early years provision on the Spencer site. The local authority's intention is that the proposals will ensure that the provision at the Spencer Nursery site will remain unchanged to families and there will continue to be joint management of the Spencer Nursery provision and Hackbridge Primary School when Hackbridge Primary School converts to academy status.
