TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 18th day of October 2018 in respect of each of the locations Numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) and (9). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the
locations numbered (10), (11), (12), (13), (14), (15), (16) and (17).
(1) UNION TERRACE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Union Terrace, York between the respective southern property boundary lines of Union Court and 95 Union Terrace (closed road) during the period when new water connection works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of October 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Union Terrace is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect.
(2) MOOR LANE, MURTON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Moor Lane, Murton (closed road) during the period when remedial works which are being undertaken thereon have been completed, that period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1500hrs on the 22nd day of October 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) NORTH LANE, HAXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in North Lane, Haxby between its junction with Station Road and the southern property boundary line of 81 North Lane (closed road) during the period when substation replacement works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the
29th day of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of November
2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in North Lane is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) BULL LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Bull Lane, York between its junction with East Parade and the projected southern property boundary line of No. 80 East Parade (closed road) during the period when gas mains replacement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. That period commencing at 0001hrs on the 29th day
of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 5th day of November 2018
(works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) VINE STREET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Vine Street, York between its junctions with Bishopthorpe Road and Cherry Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 29th day of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 2nd day of November 2018 (works period) or on at a time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the access restriction on Cherry Street is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow vehicle access to Vine Street to be maintained when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) MARYGATE LANE-BOOTHAM TERRACE, YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of footpath connecting Marygate Lane and Bootham Terrace via the subway under the railway tracks (closed footpath) during the period when edge protection works being undertaken to the subway, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 23rd day of October 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(7) MARKET STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Market Street, York (closed road) during the period when carriageway re-instatement works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 22nd
day of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of October 2018
(works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Market Street & Feasegate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads when the closure is put into effect. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 1900hrs and 2400hrs on each day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(8) NAVIGATION ROAD-PALMER STREET This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of the Hungate footpath/cyclepath bridge connecting Navigation Road and Palmer Street, York (closed footpath) during the period when bridge inspection works being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1200hrs on the 24th day of October 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(9) HOLLY TREE LANE, HAXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Holly Tree Lane, Haxby between its junction with York Road and the projected eastern property boundarylineofNo. 1 HollyTreeLane(closedroad) during theperiodwhen works to renew the fire hydrant, being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2000hrs on the 5th day of November 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(10) SPEN LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Spen Lane, York between its junction with St Saviourgate and a point 25 metres north east of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 30th day October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when nearby building maintenance works being undertaken bycraneoperation from thenearbyclosedroad have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the access restrictions on Aldwark and St Andrewgate will be suspended during the period of physical closure to allow vehicle access to Spen Lane to be maintained when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(11) RAILWAY WALK, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of Railway Walk between its junction with Earlsborough Terrace and a point 80 metres north of the said junction (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 29th day of October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 18th day of March 2019 (works period) or at a time when nearby footbridge replacement works being undertaken have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(12) THE SHAMBLES, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in The Shambles, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0700hrs on the 4th day November 2018and ending at2400hrson the 18th dayofNovember 2018(works period) or at time when nearby building maintenance works being undertaken by scaffolding from the nearby closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(13) TRINITY LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Trinity Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 12th day of November 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 16th day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when utility connection works to be undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Trinity Lane is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect.
(14) SKELDERGATE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Skeldergate, York between its junctions with Micklegate and Queen's Staith (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 12th day November 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when gas mains replacement works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(15) HAMBLETON TERRACE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Hambleton Terrace, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 12th day November 2018 and ending at 1530hrs on the 14th day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when nearby tree felling works being undertaken by crane operation from the nearbyclosed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(16) WETHERBY ROAD/A1237, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting those lengths of (i) A1237, York between points 530 metres north and 470 metres south of the roundabout controlled junction with Wetherby Road (B1224) and (ii) Wetherby Road (B1224), York between points 350 metres east and 450 metres west of the roundabout controlled junction with A1237 (closed road) during the period commencing at 2000hrs on the 19th day November 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the 28th day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(17) WILTON RISE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wilton Rise, York between its junctions with Railway Terrace and St Paul's Terrace (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 19th day of November 2018 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
