Lowering the age range of Bridlewood Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Swindon Borough Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Bridlewood Primary School, Chartwell Close, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN25 2EX from 01 September 2019.

The Local Authority is proposing to lower the age range of Bridlewood Primary School to include 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This notice seeks to extend the age range from the current 4-11 status to include early years aged pupils, thereby enabling the school to offer educational provision for the full 2-11 primary age range.

The current capacity at Bridlewood Primary School is for 270 pupils and the proposed expansion will increase this to 322 pupils. This additional capacity will be secured through building additional space on site (subject to planning approval) to create a new classroom and adapting an existing classroom into a nursery.
