CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 20th day of September 2018 in respect of each of the locations Numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) and (6). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (7).
(1) OAK STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Oak Street, York between the respective northern property boundary lines of No.'s 8 and 20 Oak Street (closed road) during the period when new water connection works which are being undertaken thereon have been completed, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of September 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of September 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period..
(2) WIGGINTON ROAD & CLIFTON MOORGATE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Wigginton Road, York between its junctions with A1237 and Burdyke Avenue and (ii) Clifton Moorgate, York between its junctions Wigginton Road and Centurion Way (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works which are being undertaken thereon have been completed, that period commencing at 1930hrs on the 24th day of September 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the 7th day of October 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be completed in two phase and that the restrictions will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 1930hrs and 0530hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) WETHERBY ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wetherby Road, York between its junctions with A1237 and Beckfield Lane (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works which are being undertaken thereon have been completed, that period commencing at 2000hrs on the 24th day of September 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the 30th day of September 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. During the works period vehicles movements between A1237 and Wetherby Road (west of A1237) will be controlled by temporary three way traffic signals during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) CASTLEGATE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Castlegate, York (closed road) during the period when footpath resurfacing works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 24th day of
September 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of September 2018
(works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) ALBEMARLE ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Albemarle Road, York between its junction with The Mount and a point 40 metres south east of the said junction (closed road) during the period when gas works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day
of September 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 8th day of October 2018
or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, during the works period there will be a 'No Right' turn restriction in place from The Mount into Dalton Terrace. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) MURTON FOOTPATH NO 30/1/10, MURTON This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of public footpath, known as Murton No. 30/1/10 (closed footpath) during the period when bridge maintenance works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of September 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 13th day of March 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period. This Order continues the temporary road closure Notice which had an end date of 2400hrs on the 21st day of September 2018.
(7) BLACK HORSE LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Black Horse Lane, York (closed road) and prohibit vehicles from waiting in (i) Black Horse Lane, York and (ii) the temporary access road between its junctions with Dundas Street and Palmer Lane (restricted road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 8th day October 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of May 2019 (works period) or at a time when nearby development works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrian and vehicles will be signed via the temporary access road during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
