Croydon Council are inviting comments on the applications listed below which are advertised for the reasons given:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 SECTION 14, AS AMENDED AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS. TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate the installation of electrical ducting on behalf of UK power networks, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to:
(a) revoke one way traffic to two way traffic for the duration of the works in those streets or lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
(b) temporarily close to vehicular traffic those streets or lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
(c) temporarily close any adjoining streets to those mentioned in the Schedule to vehicular traffic where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress; and
(d) temporarily introduce banned turns, footway closures or waiting and loading restrictions at any time should this be required;
(e) any other temporary traffic management measures as required to facilitate the installation of the electrical ducting.
2. Wherever the work happens to be in progress in those streets or lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice, no person may cause or permit any vehicle to
(a) proceed in a direction other than that indicated by a traffic sign, or
(b) proceed in any street or length of street which may at the time be subject to a road closure until the completion of the work allows.
3. Whilst the provisions of the Order remain in force, waiting or loading by vehicles will be prohibited at any time in those streets or lengths of streets specified where work is in progress. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction on waiting imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
4. During the prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above, displaced traffic will be diverted via local streets as appropriate.
5. The Order will come into operation on the 28 September 2018 and will remain in force for a period of 18 months although it is anticipated the works will be completed within 5 weeks.
(Note: The provisions of the Order will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs, Regulations and General Directions 2002. Access for frontagers will be maintained as far as possible whilst the work proceeds).

SCHEDULE High Street, Croydon Scarbrook Road Salem Place Rectory Grove
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED
THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS GORDON CRESCENT, CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a crane operation, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Gordon Crescent, Croydon.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Gordon Crescent will be closed at the south-west arm.
3. Whilst the Order remains in force access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and vehicles involved in carrying out the works.
4. The Order will come into operation on 17 October 2018 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 1 day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED
THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS PENSHURST ROAD, THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR PARKING
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to enable UK Power Networks to carry out works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular parking in Penshurst Road, Thornton Heath.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Penshurst Road free parking will be temporarily suspended both sides of the road from No.73 Penshurst Road to no.101 Penshurst Road.
3. The Order will come into operation on 30 October 2018 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 7 days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
4. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 16A AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER HARRIS CITY ACADEMY OPEN EVENINGS ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate an open evenings at Harris City Academy they intend to make a Traffic Order, the effect of which will be:
(a) to introduce one-way working in the streets and length of street specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice in the direction stated in that Schedule;
(b) to provide "at any time" waiting and loading restrictions in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
2. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction on waiting Imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
3. Nothing in the Order shall apply:
a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform;
b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies
4. The Order will come into effect on 20th September 2018 at 4.00pm to 9.00pm and Friday 14th December 2018 at 7.30am to 4.30pm and will remain in force for the period of the above dates and times.
5. Whilst the restrictions remain in force, the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Auckland Road and Mowbray Road.
