THE POOLE (CHURCHFIELD ROAD, BIRD'S HILL ROAD AND PARKSTONE
ROAD BUS, TAXI AND CYCLE LANE CLOSURE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations, the effect of this Order is detailed below. CHURCHFIELD ROAD will be closed from its junction with Parkstone Road for a distance of approximately 75 metres in a northerly direction from MONDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2018 UNTIL FRIDAY 5 OCTOBER 2018
BIRD'S HILL ROAD will be closed from its junction
with Parkstone Road to its junction with Kiwi Close
from MONDAY 8 OCTOBER 2018 UNTIL
TUESDAY 8 JANUARY 2019
PARKSTONE ROAD BUS, TAXI AND CYCLE LANE
will be closed east of its junction with Bird's Hill Road
to Alverton Avenue from MONDAY 8 OCTOBER
2018 UNTIL FRIDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2018
The footway on Parkstone Road from the bus lay-by
(near the rear of the Nurses Home) to its junction
with Alverton Avenue will also be closed; a
diversion for pedestrians will be signed.
THE CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED FOR GAS
MAINS REINFORCEMENT AND REPLACEMENT
WORKS
Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the works in due course. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. Residents of the closed section of road will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed works. Diversions will be signed.
A drop-in session for the public will be held on Tuesday 21 August 2018 from 4pm until 7.30pm in the Cattistock Road at the Civic Centre, Poole where representatives from SGN will be available to answer any queries and to view plans of the proposed woks. The proposed Order is effective from Monday 10 September 2018 until Tuesday 8 January 2019 The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
