ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURES
RIGLER ROAD, WEST QUAY ROAD, MARSTON ROAD AND WHITTLE WAY THE POOLE (RIGLER ROAD, WEST QUAY ROAD, MARSTON ROAD, WHITTLES WAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Roads should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations, the effect of this Order is detailed below. 7PM ON SUNDAY 16 SEPTEMBER TO 5AM
ON MONDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2018 7PM ON MONDAY 17 SEPTEMBER TO 5AM ON TUESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2018 THERE WILL BE ROAD CLOSURES IN PLACE AS FOLLOWS: RIGLER ROAD from its junction with Blandford Road to West Quay Road WEST QUAY ROAD from the Twin Sails Bridge to the RNLI (RNLI access via Hunger Hill) MARSTON ROAD WHITTLES WAY During the above closures the one-way restrictions on Bay Hog Lane, Terrace Row and West Street from Bay Hog Lane to New Orchard will be temporarily revoked.
Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the works in due course. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. A diversion will be signed. Local residents and businesses will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed work with further details. THE CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED FOR CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING
The proposed Order is effective from 7pm on Sunday 16 September 2018 to 5am on Tuesday 18 September 2018. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
