INTRODUCTION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT IN VARIOUS ROADS IN THE BENEDICT PRIMARY SCHOOL AREA

The Merton (20 MPH Limit) (No. 1) Traffic Order 2018

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 20 August 2018, made the above mentioned Order under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers.



2. The general effect of the Order will be to impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour in the full lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to



this notice.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 3 September 2018, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan specifying the lengths of roads affected by the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX.



4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

THE MERTON (20 MPH LIMIT) (NO. 1)TRAFFIC ORDER 2018 THE MERTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 454) ORDER 2018

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 20 August 2018, made the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 84 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers.



2. The general effect of the "Speed Limit" Order will be to impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour in Whatley Avenue, between its junction with Martin Way and its junction with Mawson Close.



3. The general effect of the "Waiting and Loading" Order will be to further amend the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977 so that waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for twenty minutes) will be prohibited at any time in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.



4. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 3 September 2018, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a plan specifying the lengths of road affected by the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end

Botsford Road, both sides, from its junction with Whatley Avenue north­westward for a distance of 17 metres.

Haynt Walk, both sides, from the south-east kerb-line of Whatley Avenue south-eastward for a distance of 10 metres.

Mawson Close, both sides, from the north-west kerb-line of Whatley Avenue north-westward for a distance of 10 metres. Whatley Avenue,

(a) the north-west side,

(i) from a point 9 metres north-east of the north-east kerb-line of Martin Way, north-eastward for a distance of 19 metres;



(ii) from a point 17 metres south-west of the south-west kerb-line of Botsford Road north-eastward to a point 17 metres north-east of the north-east kerb-line of Botsford Road;



(iii) from a point 10 metres south-west of the south-west kerb-line of Mawson Close to a point 10 metres north-east of the north-east kerb-line of Mawson Close;



(b) the south-east side,

(i) from a point 9 metres north-east of the north-east kerb-line of Martin Way north-eastward for a distance of 19 metres;



(ii) from a point 7 metres north-east of a point opposite the north-east kerb-line of Botsford Road north-eastward for a distance of



10 metres;

(iii) from a point 10 metres south-west of the south-west kerb-line of Haynt Walk north-eastward to a point 10 metres north-east of the north-east kerb-line of Haynt Walk.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

THE BROADWAY, WIMBLEDON

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane operations and associated works in The Broadway, Wimbledon, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the said road.



2. During the works no person will:-



(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter, proceed or wait (including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle) in The Broadway, Wimbledon, between its junction with Southey Road and its junction with Stanley Road; or



(b) enter or proceed in the southern footway of the length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.



3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of The Broadway, Wimbledon, specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works in that length of road.



4. During the worksi­te) the 7.5 tonne weight limit in Russell Road will be suspended; and (b) the no left turn from Morden Road into Kingston Road which applies



to vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be suspended.

5. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.



6. Vehicular access to properties adjacent to the restricted length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be maintained insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works whilst pedestrian access to the said properties will be maintained at



all times.

7. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed via the footway opposite.



8. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed as follows:-



(a) eastbound/southbound via Gladstone Road, Sir Cyril Black Way, Hartfield Road, Kingston Road and Merton Road;



(b) northbound/westbound via Kingston Road and Russell Road (or Hartfield Road in the case of local buses).



9. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -



(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or



(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or



(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.



10. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.



11. The Order will come into operation on Saturday 1st September 2018 and remain in force until Sunday 16th September 2018. It is anticipated that works will carried out on the 1st and 2nd September 2018, with the weekends of the 8th and 9th September 2018 and 15th and 16th September 2018 being back-up dates.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

BEULAH ROAD, SW19

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate sewer connection works in Beulah Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.



2. During the worksi­te) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to :-



(i) enter or proceed in Beulah Road, between its junction with Hartfield Crescent and the southern boundary of No. 40 Beulah Road; or



(ii) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the length of Beulah Road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a)(i) above; and



(b) the one-way working in Beulah Road would be suspended.

3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.



4. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.



5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed by way of Graham Road, Hartfield Road, Kingston Road, Wilton Crescent, Fairlawn Road, Dundonald Road and Hartfield Crescent.



6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -



(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or



(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or



(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.



7. The Order would come into operation on Monday 10th September 2018 with the works anticipated to be finished within 2 weeks. However, the Order would remain in operation for a maximum period of three months and its provisions would be re-introduced during that period should further works be required.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(VARIOUS ROADS)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 11) ORDER 2018

1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate a programme of carriageway resurfacing and general maintenance works to be undertaken in the roads specified in column



1 of the Schedule to this notice, they have made an Order, the effect of which, during the works, will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, proceeding in or waiting, including in any parking places, in those roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.

2. Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice will be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths



of roads.

3. Alternative routes for diverted traffic will be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs on the roads affected when the works are in progress but will likely be those diversion routes specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice.



4. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.



5. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.



6. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -



(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or



(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or



(c) emergency service vehicles, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or



(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.



7. The Order will come into force on Monday 3 September 2018 and the anticipated works dates are specified in column 3 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.
