PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS OPERATING "AT ANY TIME" AND FIVE PAY-BY-PHONE ONLY PARKING BAYS - AMPERE WAY, FRANKLIN WAY AND VOLTA WAY, CROYDON The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No.D18) Traffic Order, 20-The Croydon (On Street Parking Places) (No.D19) Traffic Order 20-

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.



2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:-



(a) introduce waiting and loading restrictions operating "at any time" in:-



? Ampere Way, the north-east side, between a point 74.25 metres south-east of the boundary with the London Borough of Sutton and a point 105.5 metres south-east of its junction with the carriageway comprised in the roundabout and island site situated at or adjacent to the junctions with Franklin Way, Volta Way and the north-western arm of Ampere Way;



■ Ampere Way, the south-west side, between a point 35 metres south-east of the boundary with the London Borough of Sutton and a point 125 metres south-east of its junction with the carriageway comprised in the roundabout and island site situated at or adjacent to the junctions with Franklin Way, Volta Way and the north-western arm of Ampere Way;

? Volta Way, both sides, between its junction with the carriageway comprised in the roundabout and island site situated at or adjacent to the junctions with Franklin Way and the north-western and south-eastern arms of Ampere Way, and a point 15 metres south-west of that junction (so much as is public highway).



(b) introduce loading restrictions operating "at any time" to complement existing "at any time" waiting restrictions in:-



? Franklin Way, both sides, between its junction with the carriageway comprised in the roundabout and island site situated at or adjacent to the junctions with Volta Way and the north-western and south-eastern arms of Ampere Way, and a point 51.5 metres south-west of the north­western boundary of Ikea, Purley Way.

(c) introduce five pay-by-phone only bays with a maximum stay of 2 hours on the north-east side of Ampere Way outside the Therapia Lane tram stop, operating from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with a tariff of 60p per 30 minutes of parking time.



3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, "Access Croydon" Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1 EA.

The proposed Orders are intended to introduce waiting and loading restrictions and pay by phone parking into the abovementioned roads as part of a scheme to improve pedestrian and cycling facilities, which includes the introduction of a new cycle route between Ampere Way and Therapia Lane tram stops.

HIGHWAYS ACT, 1980 - SECTION 65 PROPOSED SHARED USE CYCLE TRACK & CYCLE LANE AMPERE WAY, CROYDON

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to promote cycling and improve cycling facilities, it proposes to convert two existing with flow cycle lanes in Ampere Way into one two-way cycle lane, and introduce new lengths of shared use cycle track on the footway, using powers under sections 65(1) and 66(4) of the Highways Act 1980.

The new two-way cycle lane will be a segregated facility provided on the carriageway in Ampere Way between Therapia Lane Tram Stop and Ampere Way Tram Stop.

The new lengths of cycle track, for use by cyclists and pedestrians (shared use), will be provided on the footway of Ampere Way on the north-east side, outside Ampere Way Tram Stop and on both sides of the footway outside and opposite Therapia Lane tram stop.

Signs and road markings will be used to mark the start and finish of the cycle lane and track and make clear where the footway has been converted to cycle track.

A plan showing the proposals can be inspected from 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Enquiry Counter, 'Access Croydon' Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1 EA.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 SECTION 23

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO EXISTING ZEBRA CROSSINGS AMPERE WAY & THERAPIA LANE TRAM STOPS AMPERE WAY, CROYDON

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to amend two existing zebra crossings in the above road as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to provide improved pedestrian and cycle facilities.

It is intended to replace the existing zebra crossing outside Therapia Lane Tram Stop with a new zebra/parallel cycle crossing and to amend the length of the zig-zag markings of the zebra crossing on the north-east side of Ampere Way outside Ampere Way Tram Stop due to a proposed new road alignment there.

The general effect of the zig-zag markings would be to prohibit all vehicles from stopping on the markings for any reason and to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians to cross safely.

Outside Ampere Way Tram Stop, Ampere Way, the north-east side. The zig­zag markings would extend approximately 20 metres to the north-west and 20 metres to the south-east of the crossing point.

Outside Therapia Lane Tram Stop, Ampere Way. The zig-zag markings would extend approximately 14 metres to the north-west and 20 metres to the south-east of the crossing point.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 SECTION 23

PROPOSED SIGNALISED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING BRIGSTOCK ROAD, BOSWELL ROAD AND BROOK ROAD JUNCTION, THORNTON HEATH

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to install a signalised controlled pedestrian crossing at the above location.

The general effect would be to provide pedestrians with safer controlled crossing points at each arm of this four-armed junction.

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS ELLIS ROAD, GOODENOUGH WAY & LACY GREEN, COULSDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate access for construction vehicles involved in building development works in Goodenough Way, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily extend existing and introduce new waiting restrictions in Ellis Road, Goodenough Way and Lacy Green, Coulsdon.



2. Whilst the said works are taking place, existing "at any time" double yellow line waiting restrictions will be extended and new "at any time" waiting restrictions will be introduced, as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.



3. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:



(a) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;



(b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.



4. The Order will come into operation on 02 August 2018 and the Order will remain in force for 18 months.
