TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 and M4 Motorways and the A40 Trunk Road in the Counties of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, and the Unitary Authorities of Slough and Windsor & Maidenhead and the London Boroughs of Hillingdon and Hounslow, under Section 14(1)(a) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closures of:-

1) the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road at Junction 17 (A405) and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Junction 11 (A320), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;



2) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between the tip of the nosing of the exit link road at Junction 12 (M3) and the tip of the nosing of the entry link road at Junction 15 (M4), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;



3) the westbound carriageway of the M4 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road at Junction 1 (A4/A205/A406) and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Junction 5 (A4/B470), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;



4) the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road at Junction 5 (A4/B470) and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Junction 1 (A4/A205/A406), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;



5) the westbound carriageway of the A40 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road at Swakeleys Roundabout (B467) and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at M40 Junction 1 (A40/A412/A4020); and



6) the road connecting to the clockwise carriageway of the M25 from the westbound carriageway of the M40 between its diverge point (with the road connecting to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25) and its merge point (with the road connecting from the eastbound carriageway of the M40) at Junction 16 (M40 Junction 1A).



These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works, electrical works, bridge maintenance, inspections, highway maintenance works and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 4 months starting on or after Tuesday 14th August 2018. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):

Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30 Fridays 23:00-06:00



Saturdays 22:00 - 06:00



Sundays 22:30 - 05:30



The Order would come into force on 12th August 2018 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted via other junctions of the M25, M4

and A40, or by using the M3, M40, A4, A30, A308, A317, A320, A412, A312, A408, A3044, A3113, A4020, B483 and East Ramp.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
