AMENDED NOTICE

THE POOLE (OAKLEY HILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF

THROUGH TRAFFIC)

ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole are satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations, the effect of which is that no vehicle shall proceed over the bridge on Oakley Hill, between the traffic signal junction with Oakley Lane and Oakley Road. A diversion will be signed. Escorted access for pedestrians and cyclists will be provided. The proposed overnight closures are required to carry out bridge deck resurfacing and renewal of expansion joints. The proposed Order is effective for five overnight closures from 9pm to 5.30am on Thursday 2 August 2018, Friday 3 August 2018, Monday 6 August, Tuesday 7 August and Wednesday 8 August 2018. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.

If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
