Temporary Closure Order 2018 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Kirkhall Lane, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2018. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Kirkhall Lane, Leigh during the period of 21 st - 23rd August 2018.
The alternative route for traffic is:- Atherleigh Road - Twist Lane - Wigan Road -Nel Pan Lane.
The Order is necessary to install a water meter logger box.
Arley Way & Brassey Close, Chanters Industrial Estate - Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.433) Order 2018.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
? Arley Way, Atherton (North) from a point 20 metres east of its junction with Brassey Close to a point 78 metres in a westerly direction.
? Arley Way, Atherton (South) from a point 20 metres east of its junction with Brassey Close to a point 114 metres in a westerly direction.
? Brassey Close, Atherton (Both) from a point 7 metres north of its junction with Trencher Close to a point 46 metres north of its junction with Trencher Close
There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait; to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident. The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9am and 4.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday.
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/CL48.430 not later than 10th August 2018. Dated this 12th day of July 2018
