Temporary Closure of Burstock Lane, Drimpton
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BURSTOCK LANE, DRIMPTON from its junction with Blind Lane to its junction with Wood Lane, a distance of approximately 480 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation in two parts on 3rd July 2018 with an end date of 9 July 2018 and 15 August 2018 with an end date of 22 August 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22 August 2018.
This order will enable Southern Electric, safe access to carry out refurbishment works to overhead cables.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; B3162 Chard Road - B3162
Bridport Road - West Street - Hursey - Rookery Lane - Burstock Lane

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 3, Bridport
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along part of Footpath 3, Bridport for a distance of approximately 100 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 2 July 2018 for a period of 26 weeks. But it may be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. The order is required to allow the development works to be carried out on William James Buildings.

Restriction of Waiting
Dorset County Council proposes to make an Amendment Order to 'The County of Dorset (Various Roads in the District of West Dorset) (Consolidation of Orders Made for the Regulation of Traffic) Order 2014' under relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act') and of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with statutory requirement and in compliance with the 1996 Regulations. The effect of the Order will be to reduce the existing limited waiting on the northern side of Broad Street and the no waiting at anytime and no loading / unloading between the hours of 10.30am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 5.00pm, 1 June to 30 September on the southern side to provide space for a new puffin crossing.
Relevant exemptions will apply where appropriate and as necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Order.
Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the County Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Main Reception, Dorset County Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester.
