ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (GIPSY LANE AND MILL LANE, EARLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority proposes to make an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along:

1. Gipsy Lane, Earley between its junctions with Mill Lane and Meadow Road



The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Gipsy Lane (southern section), Rushey Lane, Toseland Way and Mill Lane (southern section), or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction are expected to take place between 25th July 2018 and 5th August 2018.

2. Gipsy Lane, Earley between its junctions with Mill Lane and Rushey Way



The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Gipsy Lane (eastern section), Mill Lane, Toseland Way and Rushey Way or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction are expected to take place between 16th August 2018 and 2nd September 2018.

3. Mill Lane, Earley between its junctions with Gipsy Lane and Toseland Way



The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Toseland Way, Rushey Way and Gipsy Lane or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction are expected to take place between 5th August and 2018 and 15th August 2018.

The reason for this prohibition is allow SSEN contractors to undertake essential High Voltage cable installation in safety,

Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained at all times.

The restriction imposed by the Order shall only apply during those periods when traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed.

The restrictions contained in the Order shall come into operation on 25th July 2018 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
