Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 28th day of June 2018 in respect of each of the locations Numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(1) METCALFE LANE-MEADLANDS, YORK This Order continues in force The York (Metcalfe Lane-Meadlands) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 29th day of June 2018. This is necessary to ensure that the nearby property construction work being undertaken adjacent to the closed cycle path can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of cycle path connecting Metcalfe Lane and Meadlands (closed cycle lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours
on the 30th day of June 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 17th day of
August 2018 (danger period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) A19 AND FORDLANDS ROAD, YORK This Order continues in force The York (A19 and Fordlands Road) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 30th day of June 2018. This is necessary to ensure that the carriageway construction works being undertaken thereon can be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on (i) A19 (Main Street, Fulford/Selby Road, York) York, between its junction with Fordlands Road and the north eastern property boundary line of Stonebridge House and (ii) Fordlands Road, York, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 151 Main Street, Fulford and a point 120 metres south of the said line (closed footpaths) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of July 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of July 2018 (danger period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. During the works period the prohibition will only be in place on one side of each footpath at one time, with the opposite footpath been used as an alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles.
(3) GROSVENOR ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting from 10am to 10pm in unrestricted lengths on the south side of Grosvenor Road, York between its junctions with Bootham Crescent and the service road to Grosvenor Park (restricted road) and, additionally, to impose a prohibition on vehicles from proceeding between the said times in the restricted road. The Order will be effective during the period from 7th July 2018 to 31st May 2019. This is because of the likelihood of danger arising. It is envisaged that the restrictions and prohibition will only be put in place on the occasion of a football match or other sporting event at the adjacent football stadium and only for such period within the specified times as is necessary to ensure safety. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via: Burton Stone Lane, Clifton, Bootham Crescent and vice versa.
(4) WETHERBY ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath on Wetherby Road, York between a point 140 metres east of the roundabout controlled junction with the A1237 and a point 80 metres west of the said roundabout (closed footpath) during the period commencing at
0001hrs on the 7th day of July2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day
of December 2018 (works period) or on a date when nearby carriageway improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
