Notification of Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI): Langdon Ridge

The site is situated to the south and west of Basildon in Essex, stretching from Lower Dunion Road in the north-west to the A176 in the south-east: national grid reference TQ684868. The site covers land in both the Basildon and Thurrock local authority areas.

Natural England hereby gives notice that on 29 June 2018, the boundary of Basildon Meadows SSSI is enlarged under section 28C of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, to include more land that is considered to be of special interest. The enlarged site is now known as Langdon Ridge SSSI. The enlarged notification under section 28C takes effect immediately.
