ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (BOLTON ROAD, COUNTESS LANE AM) MILTON ROAD, RADCLIFFE) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2018 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bolton Road, Radcliffe - from its junction with Stopes Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction.
Countess Lane, Radcliffe - from its junction with Stopes Road for a distance of 20 metres in a northerly direction
Milton Road, Radcliffe - from its junction with Bolton Road/Countess Lane for
a distance of 20 metres in an easterly direction The reason for the proposed order is to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.
The alternative route for the Bolton Road closure will be for west bound traffic, via Ainsworth Road, Turks Road and Countess Lane and for east bound traffic will be via Countess Lane, Turks Road, Pilkington Road and Unsworth Street. The alternative route for the Countess Lane closure will be for west bound traffic, via Ainsworth Road and Turks Road and for east bound traffic will be via Turks Road, Pilkington Road and Unsworth Street.
The alternative route for the Milton Road closure will be via a local route appropriately signed on site.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Sunday 08 July 2018 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated closures are only expected to be in force for 3 individual Sundays. Dated 28 June 2018 Council Solicitor

6) Spencer Avenue, Whitefield - full length
7) Baguley Drive, Whitefield-full length
8) Warwick Avenue, Whitefield - from Carlisle Close in an easterly direction to the cul-de-sac end
9) Simister Green, Prestwich - full length
10) Crescent Avenue, Prestwich - full length
11) Polefield Circle, Prestwich - full length
The reason for the proposed order is to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.
The alternative routes will be as follows:-
1) No diversion
2) Via Rostron Road, Albert Street and Young Street and vice versa.
3) Via Brandlesholme Road, Westeombe Drive and Seaham Drive and vice versa.
4) No diversion
5) Via Warwick Road, Coventry Road, Ainsworth Road, Cardigan Street, St Andrews View, and St Andrews Road and vice versa
6), 7), 8), 9), No diversion
10) Via Bury New Road and Chandos Road and vice versa.
11) Via Bury Old Road, Heywood Road, Daneshill and Polefield Hall Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 09 July 2018 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 to 4 weeks on each street.
