A31 TRUNK ROAD (MACMILLAN BIKE RIDE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because an event is proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to impose a 40mph speed restriction for the duration of the event on the A31 between Stag Gate and Almer Cross Roads, west of Sturminster Marshall. These measures are in the interests of road safety while the Macmillan charity bike ride is held. It is expected that the speed restriction will be in force for 6 hours starting at 0800 on Sunday 1st July 2018.
The Order will come into force on 1st July 2018 and have a maximum duration of 3 days. The temporary mandatory speed limit will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the event.
