VARIOUS ROADS (NO. 6) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate carriageway marking works to be undertaken in the roads or lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting in those roads.
2. During the works no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice.
3. The restrictions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
5. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
6. The Order would come into operation on 9 July, 2018 and would remain in force for a maximum period of three months.

AMENDMENT TO A FREE LOADING BAY IN HIGH STREET, WIMBLEDON

THE MERTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (WIMBLEDON VILLAGE) ORDER 201*
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton under the powers conferred by sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, propose to make the above mentioned Orders.
2. The general effect of the 'Free Loading Bays' Order would be to:
(a) re-designate the existing free loading bay specified in the Schedule to this notice so that it operates between the hours of 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays inclusive;
(b) specify that goods carrying vehicles constructed or adopted for use of the carriage of goods or burden of any description and not drawing a trailer may be used subject to the provisions of the Order for the purpose of continuous loading and unloading in the free loading bay described in the Schedule to this notice;
(c) omit the free loading bay specified in the Schedule to this notice from the Schedule of the London Borough of Merton (Loading Bays) (No. 5) Traffic Order 2001.
3. The general effect of the 'Waiting and Loading' Order would be to:-
(a) consolidate the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Village) (No. 1) Order 2015 with its amending Orders, and
(b) amend the existing restrictions so that waiting by and the loading/ unloading of vehicles would be prohibited Mondays to Saturdays from 7am to 10pm and from 4pm to 7pm inclusive in the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the lengths of roads to which the Orders relate can be inspected during the Council's normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey.
5. Any person desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment and Regeneration Department, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting the reference ES/HSWLB no later than 6 July 2018.
