Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Portland
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Portland. The roads that will be closed are [a] Westcliff Road from the junction with Grangecroft Road, to the junction with Weston Service Road. [b] Yeolands from the junction with Westcliff Road, to the junction with Courtlands Road [c] Isle Road from the junction with Fouracres to the junction with Weston Service Road. [d] Grangecroft Road from the junction with Blacknor Road to approximately 36, Grangecroft Road. [e] Croft Road from the junction with Courtlands Road to approximately outside 129 Croft Road. [f] Courtbarton from the junction with Croft Road to the junction with Sharpitts, Portland.[g] Courtlands Road from 130 Courtlands Road to the junction with Yeolands Road, [h] Woolcoombe Road from the junction with Blackmoor Road to the junction with Courtland Road. [i] Blindmere Road from the junction with Woolcombe Road to approximately outside 17 Blindmere Road. [j] Blacknor Road from approximately no 49, Blacknor Road to no 1 Blacknor Road. [k] Barleycroft Road from the junction with Blacknor Road to the junction with Martinscroft Road [l] Martinscroft Road from the junctions with Barleycroft Road. [m] Bowers Road from its junction with Grangecroft Road. [n] Four Acres from the junction with Westcliff Road and the junction with Isle Road. [o] Weston Road from the junction with Reforne to the junction with Avalanche Road. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users.
It will come into operation on 25th June 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months.
However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 04th July 2018. The
closure will be operational between 09:00hrs and l6:00hrs daily.
The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. This order
can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if
necessary.
This order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Sydling Ford Road, Sydling St Nicholas
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C111 SYDLING FORD ROAD, SYDLING ST NICHOLAS, a distance of approximately 50 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 18th June 2018 between 0930 and 1530 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29th June 2018. The road will be open outside of these times, and also over the weekend. This order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out stabilisation works to bollards and bank which have been undermined and are falling into the river.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No30
Charminster
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath No30 Charminster, from grid reference SY 677 982 to grid reference SY 677 982 a distance of approximately 190 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 17 June 2018 for a period of 12 months. But it can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The Order is required for health and safety reasons while Wyatt Homes construct
new houses.
On this occasion there is no reasonable alternative route.

All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath No34 Charminster, from grid reference SY 677 928 to grid reference SY 676 927 a distance of approximately 220 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 17 June 2018 for a period of 12 months. But it can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The order is required for Health and Safety reasons while Wyatt Homes construct new houses.

Temporary Closure of Old Wool Bridge Road, East Stoke
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrian, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Old Wool Bridge Road, at Old Wool Bridge, a distance of approximately 75 metres. The Order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 02 July 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 December 2018.
This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out bridge repairs.
A temporary bridge will be built; however it will only be suitable for pedestrians and cyclists.

Temporary Closure of Benville Bridge, Evershot
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BENVILLE BRIDGE, EVERSHOT from the junction with Benville Lane, Corscombe, a distance of approximately 60 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 18th June 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th July 2018
This order will enable Dorset County Council, safe access to replace fill
to brick arch bridge with fibre reinforced concrete and resurface road.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; C38 - Holway Lane - C29 -Horsey Knap

Closure of the Maintained Nursery provision at Somerford Primary School
By Virtue of Schedule 3 of the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013, Dorset County Council is required to consult on changes to provision at Maintained Schools including alteration of upper or lower age range by 1 year or more (including the removal of nursery provision). Following extensive consultation with schools and community notice is hereby given for the following changes:
1. Somerford Primary Nursery Provision will close from the 31 August 2018
2. Somerford Primary School will change its age range from age 2-11 to a 4 -11 provision from the 1 September 2018
