NOTICE OF MAKING AN ORDER
PUBLIC PATH TEMPORARY DIVERSION ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL FOOTPATH NO.18 (PART) AND BRIDLEWAY NO.5
COMPTON BASSETT TEMPORARY DIVERSION ORDER 2018
The above order, made on 4 June 2018, under section 257 and section 261 of the Town and Country Planning Act
1990, will temporarily divert Compton Bassett Footpath no.18 running from OSGR SU 0281-7251, in a broadly
north-westerly direction for approximately 283m to OSGR SU 0256-7264, to a new route at OSGR SU 0281-7251, in
a broadly south-westerly direction for approximately 109m to OSGR SU 0272-7245, then in a broadly north-westerly
direction for approximately 350m to OSGR SU 0239-7259 having a width of 2m. Also Compton Bassett Bridleway
no.5 running from OSGR SU 0271-7281 in a broadly south-westerly direction for approximately 232m at OSGR SU
0256-7264, then in a broadly north-westerly direction for approximately 145m to OSGR SU 0243-7269, to a new
route with a status of restricted byway running from OSGR SU 0271-7281, in a broadly north-westerly direction for
approximately 305m to OSGR SU 0241-7290 having a width of 6m.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Rights of Way and
Countryside, Waste and Environment, Wiltshire Council, Unit 9, Ascot Court, White Horse Business Park, Trowbridge,
Wiltshire, BA14 0XA from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at
the price of £5.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Ali Roberts, Rights of Way Officer,
Waste and Environment, Wiltshire Council, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN not later than 5pm on
12 July 2018. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Wiltshire Council may
confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food
and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent
with the order.

Notice of Confirmation of Order Town and Country Planning Act 1990 - Section 257 & Wildlife and
Countryside Act 1981 - Section 53A - The Wiltshire Council Calne 13 Diversion and Definitive Map
and Statement Modification Order 2018
On 4 June 2018 Wiltshire Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the
public footpath running from OSGR ST 9961-7005, at its junction with Silver Street (A3102), in a southerly direction
for approx 58m, before leading south-south-east for approx 56m to OSGR ST 9964-6994, at its junction with path 10
Calne, having a width of 0.9m, to a line running from OSGR ST 9961-7005, at its junction with Silver Street (A3102),
in a generally south-south-easterly direction for approx 85m, before leading south for approx 30m to OSGR ST
9964-6994, at its junction with path 10 Calne, having a width of 2m, as shown on the order map and to change the
Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 accordingly. A copy of
the confirmed order and map may be seen at the Rights of Way and Countryside Section, Waste and Environment,
Wiltshire Council, Unit 9, Ascot Court, White Horse Business Park, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 0XA, free of charge,
from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Copies may be bought there for £5. This order comes into force on the date
on which Wiltshire Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with, but if any person
aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that
it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or any regulation
made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to
the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within
6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraphs 7 and 8 of Schedule 14 to that
Act. 14 June 2018.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Pedestrian Crossing - B4534 Purton Road, Purton
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 proposes the installation of a “PUFFIN” (Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent) Crossing, a form of traffic
signal-controlled crossing in B4534 Purton Road, Purton at a point 60 metres south west of its junction with Mustang
Way. As part of this project the existing Bus Stop Clearway will be relocated on the south side of B4534 Purton
Road, Purton at a point 89 metres south west of its junction with Mustang Way. A copy of the plan showing the
location of the crossing may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge
during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Purton Library, 1 High Street, Purton
during the hours of 2pm to 5pm Monday and Friday, 2pm to 7pm Tuesday and 10am to 5pm Wednesday until

The County of Wiltshire (Eastern Wiltshire) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015
(Amendment No.2) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be to amend The County of Wiltshire
(Eastern Wiltshire) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015 by introducing The Vale Community Campus Car Park,
Wilcot Road, Pewsey to the Order, operating Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm 3 hours No return within 3 hours free of
charge. Deposit copies of the Order, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order
may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office
hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Pewsey Library, Aston Close, Pewsey between the hours of
2pm to 5pm Monday and Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm Tuesday, 10am to 1pm Wednesday and Saturday

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
Footpath 24, Malmesbury; from Tetbury Hill heading in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 70m
to enable Wessex Water to install a new sewer main. Alternative route via Tetbury Hill - Park Road and vice versa.
The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 9 July 2018
and it is anticipated that the restriction will be required for a maximum of 8 weeks. The Order will have a maximum

Various Temporary Traffic Restrictions: Avebury Summer Solstice 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to:
Temporarily close to all Vehicles (except residents displaying a valid permit): (a) High Street, Avebury
(including High Street Spur) – the complete length;
And to introduce a temporary No Waiting at Any Time restriction applying to both sides of the following lengths of
road: (b) A4361 (Part) – from its junction with A4 Beckhampton roundabout, Avebury to its junction with Mill
Lane, Winterbourne Monkton; (c) Nash Road/South Street/Frog Lane, Avebury – the complete length; (d)
Longfields, Avebury – the complete length; (e) Main Street, Avebury – the complete length; (f) Bray Street,
Avebury – the complete length; (g) Windmill Hill Road, Avebury – the complete length; (h) High Street
(including High Street Spur) – the complete length; (i) Green Street, Avebury – the complete length; (j)
B4003, Avebury – the complete length from its junction with the A4361 to its junction with the A4; (k) Layby
on the north east side of the A4, Avebury – on the north east side of the A4 just east of its junction with the
B4003, for its complete length; (l) Church Road, Winterbourne Monkton – the complete length; (m) Layby
on the west side of A4361, Winterbourne Monkton – on the west side of the A4361 just north of Church
Road, for its complete length; (n) U/C 107201 (A4361 north and east to A4361), Winterbourne Monkton – the
complete length; (o) Mill Lane, Winterbourne Monkton – the complete length from its junction with the A4361
to Windmill House; (p) Layby on the east side of A4361, Winterbourne Monkton – on the east side of the

Parking permits for residents parking only are issued by Avebury Parish Council and must be clearly displayed
at all times. This Order is made to ensure public safety during the period of the Avebury Summer
Solstice. Section (a) will come into operation at 06:00 on 20 June 2018 and will remain in force until 12:00 noon on
22 June 2018. Sections (b) - (p) will come into operation at 06:00 on 19 June 2018 and will remain in force until
12 noon on 22 June 2018. The Orders will have a maximum duration of 18 months. For further information please

Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: High Street (Part) and Market Place (Part), Chippenham
(Chippenham “Longest Day 10K Event”)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all vehicular traffic: (a)
High Street (Part); from a point level with the traffic gate barrier to its junction with Market Place; (b) Market
Place (Part); from its junction with High Street to its junction with St. Mary Street. These temporary traffic measures
are required to safeguard members of the public and competitors whilst enabling the Chippenham “Longest Day
10K” Event to take place. This Order will come into operation on Wednesday 20 June 2018 with the exception of
vehicles officially involved in the marathon, vehicles being used for ambulance, police or fire brigade purposes, or the
purpose of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, or with permission being given by a Police Constable in uniform
or a Community Safety (CSAS) accredited marshal. The closure is anticipated to commence at 19.30 and finish at

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: (a) Goatacre
Lane (Part), Hilmarton; from a point level with property “Pear Tree Cottage” for a distance of approximately
90m in a south-easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement works.
No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 8 July 2018 and it is anticipated that

of approximately 40m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to undertake standard connection works.
Alternative route via West View Crescent (unaffected length) – Hillworth Road and vice versa. This Order will come
into operation on 9 July 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 11 July 2018. For further

Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: (c) Hill Corner Road (Part), Chippenham; from
property no. 1 Hill Corner Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction to enable UK Power
Solutions to excavate and undertake works to connect to gas main. Alternative route via Hill Corner Road (unaffected
length) – Greenway Lane – Hill Rise – Barrow Green – Heathfield – Hill Corner Road (unaffected length) and vice
versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required

(d) Crookwood Lane (Part), Urchfont; from a point level with the property “Bridge Farm” for a distance of
approximately 70m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to undertake works for a new connection.
Alternative route via Crookwood Lane (unaffected length) – The Green – Blackboard Lane – B3098 – A360 – Stroud
Lane – Crookwood Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 June 2018
and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 20 June 2018. For further information please contact

Pye Lane to its junction with The Barton to enable Wessex Water to replace manhole cover and frame. Alternative
route via Bushton Road – Broad Town Road – Pye Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on
18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 20 June 2018. For further information please

with Oak Hill for a distance of approximately 100m in a northerly direction to enable Thames Water to relay a service

Forebridge – Oak Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that

Water) on 02035779225; (g) Cadley Road (Part), Collingbourne Ducis; from its junction with Saxon Rise in an
easterly direction to a point adjacent property no.108 to enable A private contractor to install a sewer. Alternative
route via Cadley Road (unaffected length) – A338 High Street – A346 Ludgershall Road/Shaw Hill – C21 (Mount
Orleans Farm) – C259 Cadley Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. The A346/C21 junction will be controlled by
multi-phase lights to facilitate access and egress from and to the minor road which forms part of the diversion route.
This Order will come into operation on 19 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required daily until

Granham Close, Marlborough; from its junction with A345 Granham Hill for its entire length to enable Tithegrove
Ltd to undertake highway resurfacing works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on
18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for two days. For further information please contact
Tithegrove Ltd on 07780 668654. Orders (a) to (h) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Notice is hereby
given that Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic to enable Eurovia to undertake works
for carriageway resurfacing, surface dressing and road markings: (i) A345 (Part), Savernake; from its junction
with Manton Drove for a distance of approximately 3.12km in a southerly direction. Alternative route via A345
(unaffected length) – A342 – A338 – A346 – A345 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order, which previously
came into operation on 15 March 2018, will now recommence on 18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure
will be required for five days; (j) A345 (Part), Pewsey/Manningford/North Newnton; from its junction with
Swan Road, Pewsey to its junction with Rushall Road, Woodbridge. Alternative route via A345 (unaffected length) –
A342 – A338 – A346 – A345 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order, which previously came into operation on
12 March 2018, will now recommence on 18 June 2018 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for five

Orders (i) and (j) have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly
indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated durations to complete depending
upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are
likely due to the nature of some of the works.
