THE M61 MOTORWAY (NORTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY - KEARSLEY SPUR) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M61 Motorway, in the Borough of Bolton, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable the installation of Average Speed Cameras to be carried out in safety. The Order will ban all traffic from the M61 Kearsley Spur northbound carriageway, from the last point at which the slip road to the A666 roundabout leaves the carriageway, to the end of the M61 Kearsley Spur, where the M61 becomes the A666. The prohibition is expected to take place overnight between 22:00 hours and 05:00 hours during a period starting Monday 25 June 2018 and ending on Wednesday 11 July 2018. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights, or continue until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M61 Motorway and local roads will be well signed. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 24 June 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
