A31 TRUNK ROAD (MACMILLAN BIKE RIDE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because an event is proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to impose a 40mph speed restriction for the duration of the event on the A31 between Stag Gate and Almer Cross Roads, west of Sturminster Marshall. These measures would be in the interests of road safety while the Macmillan charity bike ride is held.
It is expected that the speed restriction would be in force for 6 hours starting at 0800 on Sunday 1st July 2018.
The Order would come into force on 1st July 2018 and have a maximum duration of 3 days. The temporary mandatory speed limit would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the event.
