CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), not less than 7 days from
the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2),
(3), (4) and (5).
(1) GOODRAMGATE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Goodramgate, York
between its junctions with Deangate and King’s Square (closed road) during the period
commencing at 1030hrs on the 11th day of June 2018 and ending at 1700hrs on the
20th day of July 2018 (works period) or on a date when footway resurfacing works being
undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the
said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into
effect in phases between 1030hrs and 1700hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period.
An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) CINDER LANE FOOTBRIDGE, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Cinder Lane footbridge
over the railway track (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the
11th day of June 2018 and ending at 0530hrs on the 14th day of June 2018 (works period)
or at a time and date when bridge maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been
completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried
out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect overnight between
2100hrs and 0530hrs during the works period.
(3) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on
Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2330hrs on the 12th
day of June 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the 13th day of June 2018 or at time when track
maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the
said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available
via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.
(4) DARLING LANE, ACASTER MALBIS
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Darling Lane, Acaster
Malbis (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 11th day June
2018 and ending at 1530hrs on the 15th day of June 2018 (works period) or at time when
telecommunication works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the
earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route
for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) BERESFORD TERRACE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Beresford Terrace, York
between its junctions with Bishopthorpe Road and Finsbury Street (closed road) during
the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 12th day June 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on
the 14th day of June 2018 (works period) or at a time when water works being undertaken
thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works
can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during
the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they
prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or
safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
