THE A168 TRUNK ROAD (DISHFORTH INTERCHANGE TO YORK ROAD INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A168 Trunk Road, the A1(M) Motorway and the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Friday 1 June 2018 for 3 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to close between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, the:
(i) A168 northbound carriageway from the entry slip road at the A1(M) Junction 49 Dishforth Interchange to the entry slip road at the A167 Topcliffe Interchange, a distance of 4200 metres;
(ii) A168 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at the A19 York Road Interchange to the exit slip road at Dishforth Interchange, a distance of 10900 metres;
(iii) A168 northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Dishforth Interchange;
(iv) A168 northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Asenby Interchange;
(v) link road connecting the A1(M) northbound carriageway with the A168 northbound carriageway at Dishforth Interchange;
(vi) link road connecting the A168 southbound carriageway with the A1(M) at Dishforth Interchange;
(vii) A168 northbound exit and southbound exit and entry slip roads at Topcliffe Interchange;
(viii) A168 southbound entry slip road at the B1448 Warren Farm Junction; and
(ix) A168 southbound entry slip road at York Road Interchange.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available. It will be necessary to impose, 24 hours a day, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the:
(x) A168 northbound carriageway from the entry slip road at Dishforth Interchange to the centre point of Asenby Interchange overbridge, a distance of 2900 metres;
(xi) A168 southbound carriageway from the centre point of Asenby Interchange overbridge to the exit slip road at Dishforth Interchange, a distance of 2900 metres; and
(xii) above slip roads and link roads as described in (iii) to (vi).

It will also be necessary, at times during the works, to:
(xiii) close between 8pm and 6am the gaps in the A168 central reservation between Dishforth Interchange and Warren Farm Junction;
(xiv) close 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to the A168 northbound carriageway between Dishforth Interchange and Topcliffe Interchange;
(xv) close 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to the A168 southbound carriageway between Dishforth Interchange and York Road Interchange; and
(xvi)close 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to the A19 southbound carriageway between York Road Interchange and South Kilvington Interchange.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A168. The Order comes into force on 31 May 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
