CITY OF YORK COUNCIL HACKNEY CARRIAGE FARES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of York pursuant to their powers
under Section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 relating to
hackney carriage fares in the said City has made a variation to the table of fares as set out
below which it is proposed shall come into operation from 11th June 2018.
Anyone wishing to object to this variation may do so before the expiry of fourteen days from
the date of the publication of this Notice by letter addressed to Mr M Boxall, Acting Head of
Public Protection, Economy and Place, Eco Depot, Hazel Court, York, YO10 3DS.
A copy of this notice may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours at Eco Depot,
Hazel Court, York, during the period of fourteen days from the date of this publication.
VARIATION TO THE TABLE OF FARES
Day time Rate
For the first 145 metres or 40 seconds waiting time or a combination of both £2.90
For each succeeding 80 metres or 22 seconds waiting time or
a combination of both .10p
Night time Rate (between 10pm and 7am)
For the first 70 metres or 19 seconds waiting time or a combination of both £3.70
For each succeeding 80 metres or 22 seconds waiting time or
a combination of both .10p
Racecourse Rate (Race days only)
For the hire of the vehicle to or from the racecourse on race days for any distance
up to 980 metres or 4 minutes 29 seconds waiting time or a combination of both £5.80
For each succeeding 80 metres or 22 seconds waiting time or
a combination of both .10p
Waiting Time
For each 22 seconds or uncompleted 22 seconds .10p
All other elements of the hackney carriage fares remain the same.
